Stilleven Voedselrijkdom is het eerste uit de serie ‘stillevens uit Midden-Delfland‘ die ik heb gemaakt in opdracht van Flip van der Eijk van Arti Delflandiae – Van doek naar werkelijkheid en verbeelding!.

De serie gaat over voedsel zoals zuivel, groenten en vlees dat in de regio tussen Delft en Rotterdam wordt geproduceerd. Hierbij is belangrijk dat de stad en het platteland met elkaar verbonden zijn. De stillevens laten zien dat er veel mooi en lekker eten komt uit de regio vlakbij de grote stad.

Still Life ‘Wealth in Food’

The Still Life ‘ Wealth in Food’ is first in the series Still Lifes from Midden-Delfland, commissioned by Flip van der Eijk of the Arti Delflandiae foundation. The series is about food like dairy, vegetables, and meat produced in the region between Delft and Rotterdam, to show that the urban and rural world are tightly entwined. Even if you would think at first glance that they are worlds apart. The still lifes show there is a lot of beautiful, tasty, and sustainable food to be found in rural areas close to even the largest urban areas.

Local Produce

The series are being showcased permanently at BoereGoed in Naaldwijk, the local foundation that promotes local, short food chains. They grow vegetables and herbs that are for sale in the shop. Also, BoereGoed buys vegetables, fruits, eggs, meat, honey, and much more from local growers and manufacturers. They provide work experience placements, opportunities to meet, and to stimulate sustainable cooperation. At BoereGoed, people work together to grow and sell healthy food and, above all, to help each other in work and society. BoereGoed offers a place for everyone.
The foundation supports participants in local, short chains by jointly developing and transferring knowledge, skills, and experience and by developing innovative chain models with an equal and fair distribution of value between parties. Furthermore, the foundation aims to promote the added value of healthy and sustainable food and opportunities for as many people as possible.
